In 2023, $577 million was invested in durable CDR suppliers. While investment continues to increase, we’re far off from the estimated $6-16 trillion needed to scale across all CDR to deliver net zero by 2050. As net-zero targets grow nearer, we have less time to experiment and less time to bring the most effective technologies to scale. That means investors have a bigger role to play in ensuring they’re directing the maximum amount of capital to the technologies that prove their impact.
